The Student Government Association (SGA) executive board announced that they are coordinating with the Board of Trustees for a video communication, in which senators will be able to ask questions at future meetings, during Tuesday’s regular senate gathering.

The board also responded to a previous concern about missing accessibility markers at crosswalks. Facilities Management removes the markers before projected snowfall and usually puts them back, but asked any students who notice they are not there to report it to them in a barrier report form.

The Honor Code Council presented about their role on campus. The Council works to resolve student conflicts, which could be interpersonal, within student organizations, between roommates or on social media. The group does not work with academic honor code issues, which is under the umbrella of the Academic Honor Board. The council said that they prefer a restorative model, rather than punitive, when mediating issues. Students can submit a form on Mount Holyoke’s website if they want to take the first steps towards having a case reviewed.

Working groups then broke up to analyze data from the Student Conference Committee (SCC) survey relating to their groups’ focus.

Senate is planning upcoming town halls in March: one with Counseling Services on March 10 and another with Student Financial Services on March 24.

Senate meets every Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the Great Room in Blanchard Campus Center.
