Golf finishes fifth at Jack Leaman Invitational in Amherst

Mount Holyoke Golf competed against 10 teams this weekend in Amherst at the Jack Leaman Invitational, finishing fifth.

In a tie for 11th place, captain Allison Shilling ’17 shot an 80 on Saturday and a 79 on Sunday, earning a combined score of 159. Susan Lee ’20 was second for the Lyons, shooting an 85 on Saturday and an 81 on Sunday for a combined score of 166 in a tie for 24th. Next for Mount Holyoke was Stephanie Spitzer ’20, who tied for 26th after shooting an 86 and an 82 for a combined score of168. Captain June Conti ’17 shot an 89 followed by an 82 for a combined score of 171 and a tie for 33rd. In a tie for 40th, Maggie Kohl ’20 shot a 95 on Saturday and an 85 on Sunday, finishing with a combined score of 177. 

The Lyons ended the tournament with 664 points, landing fifth behind New York University with 610, Williams College with 616, Amherst College with 628 and Ithaca College with 659.

Also representing Mount Holyoke this past weekend were Heeamin Lee ’17 who tied for 50th, Madi Gale ’20 who finished 64th and Sophia Verducci ’20 who finished in a tie for 65th.

Mount Holyoke Golf returns to action this weekend, Saturday, April 21 and Sunday, April 22 at the Liberty League Championships hosted by New York University.
