Victory for Swim and Dive at Westfield State

On Saturday, Nov. 16, Lyons Swim and Dive beat Westfield State University with a score of 160-133. Mount Holyoke won 10 out of the 16 total events that took place at the meet.

The meet started off with the 200-yard medley relay. Anais Magner ’23, Erin Schrama ’23, Naomi Brown ’21 and Tamara Mukulu ’21 took second with a time of 2:01.44. Following them with a time of 2:08.89 were Caitlyn Richmond ’21, Lauren Leese ’23, Adrienne Corr ’22 and Gigi Picard ’22. Ashton Bliss ’21 was the Lyons’ first winner of the day in the 1000-yard freestyle with the first place time of 11:42.23.

Diver Katie Kolozsvari ’21 had victories both on

the one-meter board with 229.50 points and the three-meter board with 217.05 points. After those two first-place finishes, Erin Schrama ’23 swam to second place in the 100 individual medley. Before breaking for diving, Schrama finished first in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 1:07.10.

“The win felt great,” Schrama said. “The team worked very hard as a whole. As for me, I felt like I went into my races feeling strong and ready.”

Mount Holyoke College Swim and Dive will continue their season on Saturday, Nov. 23 at the Mount Holyoke natatorium. The Lyons will face their New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) competitor, Wellesley College.
