During this year’s Super Bowl, T-Mobile announced the rollout of its new 5G cellular network. The commercial claimed that “T-Mobile’s 5G works inside and out.” It’s a vague statement; the commercial mainly just told audiences that 5G exists, and that T-Mobile has it.

Mount Holyoke’s “Be Well” initiative hosted a fo- cus group on opioids on Feb. 8. AmeriCorps Volunteer in Service to America (VISTA) Lucy Bolognese ’18 and Hampshire alum Charlie Hailey, a VISTA Community Opioid Epidemic Specialist, led the group. The pair cited their mission as an assessment of what college students already know about opioids and how they can more effectively disseminate information on the dangerous painkillers.

According to the Washington Post, the coronavirus is thought to be very contagious and is able to be spread during the virus’ incubation period, which is around 10 days. The virus likely spreads through secretions of the respiratory system, such as sneezing or coughing.

When Sorcha McCrohan ’21 was 11, her mother Janet fell ill with a disease her doctors struggled to diagnose. Janet’s symptoms aligned with meningitis: headaches, a high fever and a stiff neck. By the time they figured it out, she had fallen into a coma and died of bacterial meningitis.

Vaping illness becomes epidemic for young users

Last Monday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced the opening of an investigation into the recent spate of vaping-related lung illness, which so far includes about 530 known cases and seven deaths.
