Health care fundraisers on GoFundMe are under scrutiny for inability to address significant gaps in coverage
On Feb. 25, Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT), a current candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination, tweeted a video slideshow of pictures of Boyle and a short summary of his story. Boyle died in February 2017, after his Go-FundMe campaign to pay for “a month’s supply of insulin” fell 50 dollars short of its 750 dollar target. Boyle was unable to afford these supplies and died as a result.

Project: Theatre, in collaboration with Sunrise Movement South Hadley, presented “The Student Body: Climate Action Play Showcase.” The showcase drew an audience from across the campus community, including students and professors, to soak in four student-written climate change-themed plays.

Mount Holyoke’s “Be Well” initiative hosted a fo- cus group on opioids on Feb. 8. AmeriCorps Volunteer in Service to America (VISTA) Lucy Bolognese ’18 and Hampshire alum Charlie Hailey, a VISTA Community Opioid Epidemic Specialist, led the group. The pair cited their mission as an assessment of what college students already know about opioids and how they can more effectively disseminate information on the dangerous painkillers.
