U.S. News & World Report published its highly anticipated 2017 Best Colleges Report Sept. 12, and many Mount Holyoke students were disappointed to see its ranking as 36th, marked as a tie with Lafayette College.  

Voters to determine future of Massachusetts marijuana legalization

On Nov. 8, Massachusetts voters will not only cast their votes for president, but will also vote for or against the legalization of marijuana for individuals over the age of 21 within the state. Question 4 on the ballot will also include an opportunity for Massachusetts residents to vote for or against increasing the number of charter schools in the state.

Construction continues at Smith College as the college works to revitalize a new entrance gate at College Lane and Elm Street. The entrance marker project is in its second phase, which includes construction of a new sign and other utility work.

Hampshire will rely 100 percent on solar energy

Hampshire College broke ground on the installation of 15,000 solar panels on Aug. 5, which will generate 100% of the school's electricity. The college will be the first residential college in the U.S. to run completely on solar energy.
