Mount Holyoke College updated students on new COVID-19 policies last week via a Division of Student Life newsletter. Residential students with COVID-19 will have three options going forward: isolating-in-place in their single dorm room, isolating-in-place in their shared room or relocating to isolation housing or to off-campus isolation via private transportation service. The College currently recommends isolating immediately after getting a positive COVID-19 test.

Isolation housing and College support for isolating students was one of the demands of the MHC COVID Safety Now sit-in, according to the list of demands posted to their Instagram. MHC COVID Safety Now took credit for the College’s return to isolation housing in a statement regarding the end of the sit-in in Mary Lyon on Nov. 18.

Going forward, students who test positive for COVID-19 students will get meals from DoorDash for the first five days of their isolation, according to the newsletter. After five days, students will return to getting to-go food from the dining hall. Until the 11th day of isolation has passed, students are not permitted to eat in the Dining Commons.
