The Mount Holyoke Volleyball team swept Fitchburg State University 3-0 in non-conference play at home on Oct. 31. Lyons volleyball was 6-19 on the season with the win. The scores of the three sets were 25-9, 25-14 and 25-18.

The Lyons celebrated their two seniors, Natasha Henry ’20 and Sasha Simine ’20, before the game. Since it was Halloween, some of the spectators, including fellow Mount Holyoke College varsity athletes from Swim and Dive, Cross Country and Rowing were dressed in Halloween costumes.

“It feels wild to be a senior. I’m amazed by how fast the last three years have flown by,” Simine said. “I’m really proud of how much I’ve achieved. I’m really going to miss playing collegiate volleyball at Mount Holyoke.”

Marianne Simon ’23 led the Lyons with 10 kills and seven digs alongside two service aces. Simine made eight total kills and two block assists. Sarah Bishop ’22 came up with seven kills and six digs. A match-high of 28 assists were given by Brayden Walden ’21.

Lyons volleyball concluded their season at home on Nov. 2 in a tri-match against Babson College and Sage College. The Lyons were swept 3-0 by Babson College in conference play, and in return the Lyons swept Sage College 3-0 to end their season with a record of 7-20.
