Mount Holyoke College Soccer finished up their fall season on Saturday, Oct. 28, in a home game against Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Although the Lyons fell to the Engineers 3-0, they played hard. Goalie Shan Breen ’24 made two saves in the first half, and goalie Evie Krieg ’27 made five saves in the second half.

WPI took the lead 19 minutes into the game, with Engineer Lottie McLeod receiving a kick down the field from WPI teammate Maeve Steckley. Breen came out of the goal to block McLeod’s offense, but McLeod passed to Engineer Olivia Toolin, who scored.

The Engineers scored their second goal only 11 minutes later, with McLeod making a long pass to WPI’s Lily Guiliano, who sank the ball inside the right goalpost.

Guiliano also scored the final goal of the game. The ball made it past the Lyons’ defense when Guiliano got a foot on it, pushed past Krieg and scored, this time on the left side netting.

The only shot on goal of the game from Mount Holyoke was made by Taryn White ’26; however, it was saved by WPI’s Lili Hellerman.

Although Mount Holyoke Soccer had an overall losing season with a record of 3-12-2, they ended their competitive schedule with six of their games being lost by just one point.
