Banksy or Bogus?

Well it looks like our good friend Banksy is back to his old tricks again after a prolonged media silence. This latest stint by the English artist occurred about two weeks ago at an evening auction in the historic Sotheby’s, when a piece by Banksy titled “Girl with Balloon” sunk into its frame and shredded itself the split second it was sold to an unnamed buyer for 1.04 million British pounds ($1.36 million). The stunned crowd was unsure if this was the work of the enigmatic Banksy himself, but it was later confirmed to be Banksy’s doing by the artist himself as well as Pest Control, a society for the authentication of street art.

But if you’ve never embarked on this journey into the cult of podcasts, it can be hard to know where to start. If you’re looking to try something new or want to add to your list, here are some of the most interesting shows in the four categories of talk, news, interview and narrative.
“Ready Player One” misses opportunity to be good

One of the most anticipated films of the year, “Ready Player One,” is directed by industry giant Steven Spielberg (“Jurassic Park”) and based on the 2011 debut novel of the same name by Ernest Cline. The film follows Wade Wyatt, or Parzival (Tye Sheridan, “X-Men: Apocalypse”), through the fantastical multiplayer virtual world of “the Oasis.” There, he and his friends battle for control of the virtual wonderland against a heartless corporation, Innovative Online Industries, and its head honcho, Nolan Sorrento (Ben Mendelsohn, “Rogue One”). In the real world, Wade battles the realities of a rundown futuristic Columbus, Ohio.
Film Festival gives students another chance

Following the Five College Film Festival, the Mount Holyoke Film Society and Mount Holyoke Broadcasting Channel (MHBC) hosted their own festival on March 2. The Mount Holyoke Film Festival aimed to showcase the works of students who were not accepted to the larger festival or did not submit entries.
“Queer Eye” is back and fabulous

Carson, Kyan, Ted, Thom, and Jai: the original Fab Five. These names may mean nothing to you, but to me these men have been my unofficial gay fathers since “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy” premiered in the early 2000s. Sadly, this show came to an end in 2007. Of course, in the age of reboots and renewals, Netflix picked it up, now titled “Queer Eye,” which follows the same premise of “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy,” except with a new Fab Five.
